Social Security: In the case of cross-border activities in the EU/EFTA area, the Form A1 should always be carried along for this purpose. Controls by the Swiss and foreign authorities have been significantly stepped up since the beginning of 2019, with contraventions being subject to some prohibitive fines.
The "Swiss Collective Agreement on Jazz and Improvised Music" is a nationwide project launched by the Swiss Music Syndicate SMS (www.sonart.ch, information in German, French and Italian only) . The signatory associations and organisations represent over 1000 musicians and 35 promoters. The organisers agree on a fee with the musicians, which is based on local practice (venue and region). Fee per musician (expenses not included): Club and Off-festival concerts CHF 400.00 - 500.00; In-Festival concerts CHF 800.00 - 1'000.00 The organisers shall pay for travel expenses, meals and accommodation. Use the tariff as a guide if you are unsure in the wage negotiations.
