Cultural Funding
The Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia has been working at the heart of the Swiss and international cultural scene since 1939. It fosters contemporary art production in Switzerland and helps disseminate and promote Swiss arts at home and abroad. The Arts Council also contributes to national and international cultural exchange and to innovation in the field of cultural promotion.
Pro Helvetia’s global network comprises six liaison offices (Johannesburg, Cairo, Moscow, New Delhi, Shanghai, South America) and the Centre culturel suisse in Paris (CCS), as well as the partner institutions Istituto Svizzero in Rome and Milan (ISR) and the Swiss Institute in New York (SINY).
Through shortfall guarantees and project-specific contributions, SüdKulturFonds supports productions and events featuring artists from Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe (non-EU countries).
The aim of the fund's support activities is to facilitate access to the Swiss cultural market and to professional networks for artists from the southern and eastern countries of the world and particularly from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation partner countries.
