Recent years have shown worrying gains for authoritarians and nationalists across the globe. In some places they are in power (Trump, Milei, Erdogan, Vučić, Putin), whilst in others, they are ominously close (Weidel, LePen, Farage). By virtue of the threat they pose, they are causing ostensibly more moderate political leaders to lurch towards the extremes.
