Cultural Funding
The Turkish Cultural Foundation is an organization that is promoting and preserving Turkish culture and heritage worldwide, through original programs and cooperation with like minded organizations. It also aims to build cultural bridges between Turkey and other countries to support a better understanding and appreciation of Turkish cultural heritage.
It is an independent and autonomous foundation which was officially established on 16th December 1985. The organization had compiled a series of event including The Izmir International Festival, The Izmir European Jazz festival, The Dr. Nejat F. Eczacibasi National Composition Contest, The Cultural Congress.
This foundation programs activities and projects including promoting, archiving Turkish composers; organising polyphonic music concerts, arranging scholarships for students, organising the International Ankara Music Festival and music training for children and teenagers.
This organization had been founded in 1973 thanks to Nejat Eczacıbaşı. İKSV, at the heart of Istanbul's eclectic scenery of cultural and artistic life, efforts to cultivate events from various disciplines. Together with Istanbul Jazz Festival as a festival organization and Salon İKSV as a venue, the foundation contributes greatly to Turkish jazz scene.
