Trondheim Jazz Festival, or «Jazzfest», is a five-day long festival in Trondheim, Norway. We have since the start in 1980 presented jazz music that represent the past, the current and the future in Norwegian and international jazz and related genres.

Jazzfest is one of the few festivals with an active collaboration with a university, and our collaboration with the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and its jazz conservatoire has been a key component for the high quality music scene in Trondheim. The festival has become a stimulating meeting place and scene for young musicians, and have become a national arena to present new and experimental jazz through our youth musicians from high schools and university.

Jazzfest is built around an already exciting jazz scene in Trondheim, and works on promoting the local and regional scene as well as presenting contemporary European musicians in Trondheim. In addition to concerts we also arrange lectures, masterclasses and jam sessions, as well as a film program.

We are committed to working on equality, diversity and inclusivity through our project JOYN-IN and arrange two free musical family days through the year. Here we present young role models to our young audience and strive to show the diverse jazz scene while breaking down economical barriers for our audience.
