Description:
Jazz ao Centro Clube (JACC) is a non-profit organisation aimed at promoting musical culture, with a special emphasis on jazz.
It began in 2003 with the organisation of the Jazz ao Centro Festival (in 2025 it will celebrate its 23rd edition). Since then, JACC developed different projects that gave it national relevance. In 2005, JACC initiated jazz.pt, a magazine that came out every two months, from June 2005 ‘till May 2012. In 2012 and do to the difficult economic context the magazine stoped being printed and stayed restricted to the web. In 2010, and to respond to the lack of opportunities for young artists to release their records, JACC created its own label - JACC Records. By the end of 2025 it will have around 60 records in its catalogue. Nowadays, JACC portfolio reaches well beyond its foundational core, working to link artistic practices, community involvement and sustainable development.
In August 2012 JACC finally found the perfect place to develop a coherent musical program: Salão Brazil. Located in a beautiful building in the heart of the historical city centre, Salão Brazil soon became one of the most relevant small size music venues in Portugal, hosting 2/3 concerts per week, artistic residencies and serving has a meeting point and a supportive and creative hub for artists of different disciplines.
