The 18th edition of the Première Rencontre festival will take place from June 9th to 13th in the Cap Excellence urban area, featuring established pianists such as David Fakeure and Leila Olivesi, winner of the Django Reinhardt Prize (awarded to French musician of the year), as well as bassist Alex Bernard from Martinique with his trio, composed of the renowned swimmer Dominique Bougrainville and pianist Claude Cesaire, one of the creators of the Bwa Koré project, along with drummer José Zébina.
This edition undoubtedly gives pride of place to women, as singer Tricia Evy, a leading figure in French jazz, will perform alongside David Fakeure at the Sonis Cultural Center on June 9th. On Tuesday, June 10th, at the same venue, the public can enjoy the project of Guadeloupean pianist Florence Vincenot with her quartet, Guadianm.
On June 11th at the Salle Tarer, as every year, it will be an evening dedicated to classical music and even operatic singing, focusing on the new voice of Thalia GARSON.
