BRECON JAZZ ATTRACTS ITS MOST INTERNATIONAL LINE-UP EVER

The Brecon Jazz 2015 programme boasts the most international line-up in the event’s 31 year history. The Festival, a member of Europe Jazz Network, will take place between 7-9 August in the heart of Wales.

Big name American headliners, exclusive performances, intriguing crossovers and global artists from Scandinavia through Romania, Brittany and Catalonia to Brazil that reflect jazz music’s global reach, are all prominent features of this summer’s event in the beauty of the Brecon Beacons. There have been recent awards for certain names on the Brecon bill. Saturday’s headliner Dr. John became Blues Artist of the Year in the 2015 Jazz FM Awards, and Mercury Prize nominees GoGo Penguin were also recognised as the UK Jazz Act of the Year by Jazz FM.

Brecon also features appearances by PhronesisCourtney Pine presenting his favourite ballads featuring the great pianist Zoe Rahman; pianist Kenny Barron and bassist Dave Holland; jazz voice Norma Winstone MBE; Neil Cowley with a special homage to Dudley Moore; Digby Fairweather’s Half Dozen; Brecon favourite Scott Hamilton and many, many more.
