Bozcaada Jazz Festival Celebrates its 10th Anniversary
Image

Inspired by Bozcaada since its inception in 2017, the Bozcaada Jazz Festival gathers music lovers on the island for the tenth time on September 4-5-6, 2026.  Organized with the contributions of the Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA) and presented by main sponsor Paribu, the festival is brought to life with the sponsorship of Kendine Has, Volkswagen, Brothers, Tchibo, and Google Gemini, alongside the valuable support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Institut Français, Etstur, and Caudalie. This year, guided by the theme of 'Impermanence', the festival calls on attendees to embrace the beauty of the present moment.

This Year's Theme: Impermanence

As Heraclitus famously put it, you can never step into the same river twice—a truth that lies at the very heart of jazz. No matter how often a piece is performed, no two shows are ever the same. A note hangs in the air for a second, then vanishes. It is precisely this impermanence that makes it so priceless.

Reaching a landmark 10th anniversary, it would be easy to try and leave a lasting monument behind. Instead, this September, the festival invites everyone to Bozcaada not to grasp onto the permanent, but to embrace the beauty of the fleeting moment and simply say: 'We are here, right now—and that is wonderful.'

Three Stages, "Keşif" (Discovery) Venues, and Surprise Spaces

Marking its 10th milestone, the festival unfolds across three distinct stages, "Keşif" (Discovery) venues, and pop-up spaces. Music that seamlessly roams across genres—from jazz to electronic, traditional to contemporary, and improvisation to psychedelia—comes alive on the island. The festival invites you to celebrate its 10th year alongside musicians from the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany, France, and Türkiye.

The 10th-anniversary visual concept and designs were created by Gamze Yalçın in collaboration with Monroe. Based in Madrid, the artist will be in Bozcaada during the festival dates to share the visual world she created—inspired by the festival's theme—with participants and islanders through interactive workshops.

While the heart of the festival beats on the main stage at Ayazma Monastery, Habbele Beach hosts electronic sounds along the shoreline from day to sunset. Salhane Stage, open to all free of charge, welcomes listeners throughout the day with its "radar" identity, giving space to emerging sounds. The festival expands across the entire island through its "Keşif" venues.

Centering around the theme of "Impermanence," the "Keşif" program brings workshops, panels, island walks, and special projects to every corner of the island. The tenth-year selection includes conversations on island life, viticulture, entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence, and cultural policy; music and ceramic workshops, jazz talks, performances, and bird-watching activities. The full program will be announced on August 5 on the festival's official website.
