Sweden

The Swedish jazz scene largely consists of venues run by non-profit organisations. They operate side by side with a few professional actors. There are a handful of jazz festivals, the larger ones programme international artists and groups.

There are small venues in all parts of Sweden, but the largest venues are located in bigger cities like Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö. You will find a wide range of jazz-styles, from the more traditional to modern jazz and jazz with a Nordic touch.

The guide to Swedish jazz is put together by Svensk Jazz. A limited selection of Swedish players is listed. If your organization with international activity is missing, please contact Svensk Jazz.
Svensk Jazz Is a non-profit member organisation that gathers those active within the Swedish jazz field.
