Dates: 1 - 7 December 2023

From 1st to 7th December 2023, PJE has traveled to Paris (France) to make the STAFF EXCHANGE having the opportunity to learn from one of the most important national jazz associations in Europe: Association Jazzé Croisé (France). We have been able to be part of their board meetings, their general assembly and speak with their managers, partners and team (management, production, communication) to fully understand which are the fundamental bases of an association with these characteristics, a very important experience for our association, in a moment of growth and expansion for us.

Learning from colleagues and at the same time references is essential. These days shared with the AJC team have been very important for us as a national organization. In addition, we have been able to strengthen network with our French neighbors which we hope will translate into collaborative projects.

The learning has been fundamentally on two levels: on one hand, the mechanics of the association and its activities (dynamics of meetings and projects, organizational structure, internal communication, relationship with institutions and sponsors, proactive participation of members, between others) and on the other hand the philosophy, ethics and esthetics, which unites and sustains them for 30 years. We have understood the basic pillars of this association that have led them to have the important influence they have on the cultural policies of their country, as well as on the jazz sector in Europe in general. This experience helps us study where we are now in Spain and how AJC can be an important reference for us.

Finally, the approach to this network has made it easier for us to come into contact with other international partners who work with them on European projects, whose meetings we have been able to attend and with whom it is likely that we will network in the future.
