I met Karolina Juzwa quite early arriving at AJC. I was hearing about INTL Jazz Platform from time to time but something remained a bit unclear; the link between the platform and the Footprint European project was a bit foggy for me. The EJN staff exchange offered me the opportunity to know them better. I went in Lodz for 6 days, from July the 10th to the 15th and stay for the entire duration of the platform.

My aim was:
- To experiment this European scheme, in order to compare, have new ideas and so on for Jazz Migration. Especially to have a look on the way they are dealing with the artistic side of an educational scheme.
- To be able to spread the word among our French musicians (jazz migration laureates) and help to increase the number of French musicians involved in the platform.
- To meet the teams and the projects (Intl jazz Platform + Footprints) from inside.

I endorsed various “function” during my stay at Lodz: I attended all the creative sessions imaginated for the participants and run by Django Bates, Sissel Vera Pettersen, Paal Nilssen-love, Ole Morten Vagan, Susana Santos Silva. I was a witness (like a small mouse) during the footprints meeting at different steps of the scheme: professional meeting with the agent or/and the artist but also meeting between the six international mentors or with European partners. I was also part of the audience and could listen to all the concerts. Between all this, I try to save some time for AJC, keeping a few hours each day to deal with office stuff. And as usual it was a warm occasion of networking, meet new people or put faces on e-mail address.

My hosts were so friendly, and open to everything. Karolina, Magda, Andrezj and Maciej were always here to help me or answer my questions. Andrezj tried to share its tasks with me, but I felt a bit useless because everything was already on its own tracks. And as I had so little free time, I cannot help so much. Anyway, it gave me an overview on European funds. Thanks Karolina, Thanks EJN; staff exchange is a nice program!
