Being part of the Jazz & The City festival-team was a great experience for me. I met many friendly and interesting people - both the people behind the scenes and the musicians attending the festival. I arrived three days before the festival started, and I got to know how they organize the different festival teams and in the administration. It was very interesting to learn how the festival was structured, and to get different points of view on how people like to work.

During the one week I was in Salzburg I mostly worked with Anna. I helped her finish up some of the last production tasks, and I also helped her get the “Artist Check-in” ready before all the musicians were arriving. During the festival I stayed at the “Artist Check-in” with Anna and Maria. We welcomed the musicians and gave them all the information they needed about their stay in Salzburg. I also worked at one of the venues (Stiegl-keller) during one of the festival evenings. That was particularly nice because I got to see more closely how the Stage managers worked, which is also my role at Nasjonal Jazzscene.

In the evening during the festival days, I watched many amazing concerts in different locations all around the city. In the program they also had something called “Blind date” and “Hidden tracks”. If you go on a “Blind date” you don't know who is going to play, and sometimes the musicians don't know either! I found that very intriguing and new. And the “Hidden tracks”- concept really gives you an unique opportunity to explore the city while you are listening to amazing musicians from all around the world - this festival really is Jazz and the City.
