EJN is proud to announce that we have been awarded the SHIFT Culture eco-certificate for cultural networks for the third consecutive year - reaffirming our long-term commitment to environmental sustainability and climate responsibility.

The SHIFT certification recognises cultural networks that actively implement and monitor sustainable practices across their governance, operations, events and communication. Over the past 12 months, we have worked alongside 16 other European cultural networks, Culture for Climate Scotland and Vector42 to implement sustainability guidelines in different aspects of our networks. As part of the process, EJN implemented both mandatory guidelines and additional voluntary measures, further strengthening our environmental approach and internal accountability.

A key element of the certification is peer review and shared learning. Our peer-auditor was REMA – the European Early Music Network, allowing for valuable exchange and mutual evaluation between our organisations.

Through SHIFT, we continue to assess and reduce our impact while contributing to a growing community of European cultural networks working towards more sustainable practices.
