The legendary Simon Phillips, one of the world's most influential and respected drummers, brings his powerhouse ensemble Protocol 6 to the Visioninmusica stage for an unforgettable season finale. After decades of shaping music history with icons like Toto, The Who, and Jeff Beck, the world-renowned drummer and composer returns to the stage with his most evolved project yet. Phillips' latest compositions for the Protocol 6 album mark a new chapter in his musical journey. Moving toward what he calls "progressive jazz," the repertoire features melody-based songs written with a vocal sensibility yet fueled by the raw energy of rock 'n' roll. This show highlights a tight-knit quintet of virtuosos, including longtime bassist Ernest Tibbs, veteran keyboardist Otmaro Ruiz, the brilliant guitarist Alex Sill, and saxophonist Phillip Whack.
