Trondheim Jazzfest 2015

Trondheim Jazzfest 2015 will kick off on the 7th May 2015 with 4 days of the most innovative jazz from Scandinavia and Europe. The festival is a member of the Europe Jazz Network (EJN) and is built around the exciting jazz scene in Trondheim, Norway, and the world renowned jazzcourse at NTNU Department of Music (Norwegian University of Science and Technology - NTNU).

The driving force behind the festival has been, since its establishment in 1979, a strong artistic content focusing on Norwegian, Nordic and European jazz. Trondheim Jazz Festival has been, through its partnership with different musical environments at NTNU, an important contributor to the persistent quality and strong musical scene in Trondheim. The Festival has been a stimulating meetingplace and a platform for young musicians, where young performers were able to create a national arena that conveys new and experimental jazz.

The 2015 edition of the Festival, with more then 30 events, will see the participation of aritists such as the Trondheim Jazz Orchestra & Albatrosh (NO), Troyka (UK), Candy Dulfer & Band (NL), the Espen Berg Trio (NO), Come Shine w/ Knut Reiersrud and Jan Erik Vold (NO) and many others.

In October 2015 a side Festival, called Jazzfest Ung, will take place with a showcase of the most vibrant aspiring jazz musicians mainly targeting a young audience.
