On Saturday 13 March 2027, TivoliVredenburg once again turns its full attention to Transition Festival, the Dutch festival for contemporary jazz. Transition presents the jazz of today: music rooted in tradition while constantly exploring new directions.
The first confirmed names include Cécile McLorin Salvant, Lakecia Benjamin, Chris Potter Trio, James Brandon Lewis Trio, Sylvie Courvoisier's Chimaera, Mary Halvorson's Amaryllis Sextet, MiXMONK Supreme, Jasmine Myra, Instant Composers Pool and Nu Art Orchestra featuring Anna Webber.
Three time Grammy winner Cécile McLorin Salvant brings her singular voice, while saxophonist Lakecia Benjamin, known for her albums Phoenix and Phoenix Reimagined, delivers irresistible groove and energy. New York's jazz vanguard is further represented by Chris Potter, James Brandon Lewis and Mary Halvorson, while composer Anna Webber joins TivoliVredenburg's own Nu Art Orchestra for a world premiere. From Europe come Swiss pianist Sylvie Courvoisier, British composer Jasmine Myra, MiXMONK Supreme's tribute to John Coltrane, and the legendary Instant Composers Pool, founded by Han Bennink and Misha Mengelberg nearly sixty years ago.
More names will be announced in the coming months. Tickets are available via www.transitionfestival.nl .
