2026 will be a very special year for Stadtgarten Köln as we celebrate our 40th anniversary! On 4 September 1986, the concert hall first opened its doors and soon became one of Europe’s leading venues for creative and improvised music.  

On 4 September 2026, Stadtgarten will mark the occasion with the festival Night of Stadtgarten,  featuring numerous concerts across all stages, followed, of course, by a party. With free admission and artists including Arve Henriksen & Stian Westerhus, Salomea, Nils Petter Molvær, Neue Grafik and many others, the evening will celebrate not only the past, but above all the future of creative music — a future that will continue at Stadtgarten with the construction of the new concert hall beginning in 2028. 

Friends, partners and supporters from near and far are warmly invited to join us on 4 September in celebrating the past 40 years — and the next 40 years — of Stadtgarten Köln.
