Richard Bona and Latvian Radio Big Band

In Latvia`s Centenary, festival "Rīgas Ritmi 2018" starts with a concert of  Jazz legend Richard Bona and Latvian Radio Big Band. This will be the first meeting on stage for these musicians. The program “African Tales” will present Richard’s compositions whose arrangement author is renowned Vince Mendoza.  Special guest of the conce rt is percussionist Francois Archanjo and together they will tell the Africa`s musical story. Bona was honored by the Festival International de Jazz de Montreal with the Antonio Carlos Jobim Award; as one of seven recipients, he is distinguished as an artist in the field of world music whose influence on the evolution of jazz is widely recognized.
