Oslo open

We have just submitted our next program to the printers, we make four editions through the year. On the cover we have a picture of the mighty Julian Lage illustrating a trio we have been waiting for in what seems like years! Norway has now fully opened up all of society and also our borders for vaccinated musicians, except for a quirk with Americans. Norway is alone in demanding a 10 day quarantine for them even though they can present vaccination passes, but a solution is in the works, so we are hopeful for a solution soon! For some artists, an EU-pass issued on tour has been a working solution, so we are looking forward to both Europeans, Americans and the rest of the world visiting us soon!

We are greatly anticipating the fabulous Canadian singer Dominique Fils-Aimé performing already on Friday 15.Oct, then the fab four Berne/ Speed/ Anderson/ King will play Ornette Coleman like never before, under the title Broken Shadows. On the 27th Oct, the contemporary- and jazz mights of Norway join to play Signe Emmeluth's commissioned music for Trondheim jazzorkester from this years Molde Jazz Festival. In the following months we are looking forward to international visits from Manu Katché & Eric Legnini, Scheen Jazzorkester with special guest Ambrose Akinmusire, Julian Lage Trio, Marc Ribot's Ceramic Dog, Lakecia Benjamin Quartet, Joel Ross, Emile Parisien & Vincent Peirani and Uri Caine Trio. From the incredible roster of Norwegian bands, we're looking forward to be hearing Voice & Strings & Timpani, The Source, Jan Bang & Arve Henriksen Duo, Jon Balke with Vestnorsk Jazzensemble, The Core, Paal Nilssen-Love Circus, Karl Seglem, POING and Hilde Louise Asbjørnsen.

Also, there will be a full week take-over by Oslo World Music Festival, in addition to many other concerts, find our full program here: https://nasjonaljazzscene.no/. We've got lots of fantastic music to look forward to, you are welcome to swing by!
