The Mladí ladí jazz festival will kick off its spring concert series on Wednesday, March 25, featuring four club nights with prominent names from the contemporary European scene. The first evening at Jazz Dock will feature the international project Wind’s Whispers, led by Iranian singer Saba Robatjazi, with support from Czech songwriter Beata Myslíková. Tickets for individual concerts are available in advance through the GoOut network. For more information about the program, visit www.mladiladijazz.cz.

This year’s spring series presents a diverse cross-section of contemporary European jazz and its crossovers into other genres; from the jazz-hip-hop trio Jazzbois to London-based singer Summer Pearl and French trumpeter Daouda.

“Each evening brings a different energy, but they are all united by an emphasis on contemporary sound and powerful artistic expression. The series kicks off in just a few days, and we’re thrilled that it will be opened by the Wind’s Whispers project, which is performing in Prague for the very first time,” says festival director Jan Gregar.

Wind’s Whispers blend modern jazz, elements of Eastern music, and contemporary pop, building on a distinctive atmosphere, improvisation, and personal lyrics. The project originated in Vienna, where Saba Robatjazy now freely develops her work.

Following the opening concert, the series will continue:

April 9 Jazzbois (Café v lese): this Budapest-based trio is among the most prominent names on the contemporary jazz-hip-hop scene. Their music blends improvisation with beats and grooves, and each concert is uniquely created in the moment.

April 15 Summer Pearl (Bike Jesus): This London-based singer and songwriter blends jazz, soul, hip-hop, and R&B. She is known for her energetic live performances and personal lyrics. She has been writing, recording, and performing in the UK and abroad since the age of 16. In 2019, she released her debut EP *Only Child*, followed by the project *Times Like These*, and in 2023, the mixtape *outmysystem*, featuring collaborations with artists such as Liam Bailey and Kaidi Tatham.

April 22 daoud (Jazz Dock): This French trumpeter is part of the rising generation of European jazz. His music balances delicacy and energy and deliberately blurs established genre boundaries.

April 30 Mladí ladí jazz Open Air (Prague Exhibition Grounds): The highlight of the spring series will be the traditional open-air concert, which will take place for the first time this year at the Prague Exhibition Grounds. The headliner of the evening will be British musician Oscar Jerome. Admission remains free.
