This autumn, Riga’s M/House of Jazz celebrates six years of bringing musicians and audiences together. A four-day anniversary programme puts Latvia’s jazz community at the centre of the celebrations.

From 7 to 10 October, the anniversary programme opens with a Birthday Jam Session, followed on 8 October by the opening of Haralds Vecvagars’ photography exhibition “Latvijas Džezs” (Latvian Jazz). Featuring large-format analogue portraits of more than 30 musicians and industry figures, the exhibition documents the people behind Latvia’s jazz scene.

On 9 October, BIG HEAVY brings together familiar faces from the club’s stage, including Vadims Dmitrijevs, Reinis Puriņš and Toms Rudzinskis, alongside special guests. LATVIAN JAZZ STAGE, led by drummer Ivars Arutjunjans, closes the celebrations on 10 October.
