Linda Melsom has been appointed as the new Festival Director of Moldejazz and will assume the position on April 1.
Melsom is 36 years old and based in Oslo. She has led numerous projects within music and festival production, including serving as Project Director for the entire Spellemann Awards in 2023. She holds relevant academic qualifications from BI Norwegian Business School, OsloMet, the University of Oslo and NTNU, and has built broad organizational experience as well as a strong national and international network.
“We are very pleased to welcome Linda Melsom as the new Festival Director of Moldejazz. She brings a high level of professional expertise, along with substantial insight and experience from cultural projects—particularly within the music sector. She has a strong understanding of the complexity of festival operations and of the interplay between artists, organizers, volunteers and audiences. In addition, she has solid administrative and financial competence. The Board has great confidence that her knowledge, perspectives and experience will help strengthen and further develop the festival in the years to come", says Chair of the Board, Bodil Palma Hollingsæter.
Melsom shares the following about her new role: “I am truly looking forward to stepping into the role of Festival Director at Moldejazz! It is exciting to become part of the further development of a festival with such a strong history and identity, and one that has played such an important role both in Norwegian music life and for the city of Molde. To me, this is a festival that treats its history with respect, while not being afraid to challenge itself or explore new solutions. These are values I strongly identify with, which is why I felt compelled to apply for the position. I look forward to getting to know the people, the music and the unique energy of Moldejazz—and to seeing how we can shape the road ahead together.”
