Leuven Jazz Festival 2021- PART 1

On March 19th, we will start the 2021 edition of Leuven Jazz festival, different from normal of course, but we try to make the best of it.


On the first afternoon you can enjoy the jazzy carillon tunes in the open air of via livestream: Swinging Bellshttps://www.leuvenjazz.be/en/programme/detail/swinging-bells-1

On Saturday, the online Opening Night will feature 4 acts:

  • Fred Hersch will perform from NY Soapbox Gallery
  • In our main venue we share three Belgian premières, including an unique Blind Date session between Nabou Claerhout (trombone) and Lynn Cassiers (vocal, electronics)
  • Also on the progamm: drummer Antoine Pierre (Urbex) in a splendid solo performance, called VAAGUE.
  • And the CD première of Cinema Paradiso featuring Jozef Dumoulin.

Next week, pianist Eve Beuvens with a solo performance. B-Jazz International Contest presents the 5 latest winners of this contest, which is part of our festival.

Performing acts are: Aishinka, Daahoud Salim Quintet, Florian Favre Trio, Martin Salemi Trio and Philippe Lemm Trio. And some younger Belgian acts.
