Katowice JazzArt Festival and Ukraine - solidarity online concert

Katowice Miasto Ogrodów (Katowice City of Gardens) that organises Katowice JazzArt Festival - http://miasto-ogrodow.eu/ has been transforming its spaces into housing for Ukrainian refugees including artists and their families.

Tomorrow evening, Wednesday 23rd of March at 18:00 CET, some of these artists will be live-streaming a jazz concert with the hope of raising funds to provide shelter, food, medicines and other essentials for those fleeing this senseless war. If you are able to join them in this musical appeal, please find the information for joining in the link below. And if you are able, please donate through Caritas with the link further down this post.

Here is more info about the concert:

We invite everyone to take part in a charity concert broadcast live directly from the charming venue Scena za Szybą.

During this evening, the following artists from Ukraine will perform: Kyrylo Revkov, his wife Anna and Olga Danchenko, who fled the war to Poland. Here, they found temporary shelter and human kindness, thanks to which they can do what they know and love most - play for the audience. The concert will be especially dedicated to all the people who try to survive and fight beyond our eastern border. As an expression of this concern, together with the musicians we will ask you to make a donation to the Caritas Poland: https://caritas.pl/ukraina/

The concert program will include:
- songs by Ukrainian composers of the 20th and 21st century
- jazz arrangements of Ukrainian folk songs
- artists' own compositions

Performers:
Anna Revkova - flute
Kyrylo Revkov - saxophone
Olga Danchenko - piano
Hanna Chazowa – lecture

The concert is organised in cooperation with the Katowice City of Gardens Cultural Institution and the JazzArt Festival, of which Kyrylo is this year's artist in residence.
