The spring edition of JazzFestBrno will present a stellar line-up of world-renowned artists including Esperanza Spalding, Brad Mehldau & Christian McBride, Joshua Redman, Béla Fleck, Edmar Castaneda, Antonio Sánchez and GoGo Penguin.
The new season will open on 6 February with BEATrio, a virtuosic trio uniting banjo master Béla Fleck, Colombian harpist Edmar Castaneda and drummer Antonio Sánchez – together holding 22 Grammy Awards. A week later, multi-Grammy-winning bassist, vocalist and composer Esperanza Spalding will bring her distinctive blend of jazz, fusion and soul.
In March, Brad Mehldau and Christian McBride will perform an intimate duo concert at the historic Besední dům, followed by GoGo Penguin, whose acoustic-electronic sound bridges jazz, trip-hop and minimalism. The spring line-up continues in May with the charismatic saxophonist Joshua Redman, bringing his unmistakable tone and modern approach to the stage at Sono.
