Jazz Bus International Conference 2020 in Gliwice Poland

Guests from all over the world, European format, Polish Jazzbus 2020. A meeting of jazz-focused  music professionals. The Jazovia Cultural Center in Gliwice will host an international meeting on 5-7th March, which aims to strengthen cooperation between Polish and international cultural institutions related to the promotion of improvised music, including jazz. The first such meeting took place in 2018 and was a point of establishing strong musical and organizational relations. The second approach is to develop this formula, a dose of new energy. Among the invited guests are: club owners, directors of cultural entities and festivals, owners of record labels, journalists from many countries of Europe and the entire world.

Jazzbus 2020 in Gliwice is an event consisting of business meetings, lectures and discussion panels, integration of the musical environment, as well as showcase concerts, which will be a summary of each evening. Lecures and discussions topics:

„Governments support for jazz" -Michał Hajduk (Pl), Jozef Kovalčík (SK)

Panel guests and discussions:
Karolina Juzwa – Creative Europe. Participant of the programme Jazz Connective. A multi-discipline cultural specialist. Coordinator of the Wytwórnia Foundation, manager of the Wytwórnia venue. Karolina Juzwa is also strongly involved in the Creative Europe program. Within the schedule of Jazzbus Gliwice 2020, she will talk about the practical aspects of the program.

Kenneth Killeen  - Improvised Music Company. Participant of the programme Jazz Connective. Artistic director of the Improvised Music Company (IMC), a leading Irish promoter of jazz and ethnic music and a special resource organization for Irish jazz musicians. Kenneth has been professionally associated with the music industry since the mid-90s as a musician, teacher, promoter and producer, and also had the opportunity to work with many great artists from Ireland and abroad.

Michał Hajduk – Adam Mickiewicz Institute. Active music promoter, has experience as a manager and curator of music clubs, festival booker and band manager. Within the schedule of Jazzbus Gliwice 2020, he will present the goals of the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, its programs and opportunities for musical cooperation on many levels.

Jozef Kovalčík - Slovak Art Council. Mr. Kovalčik is the director of the Slovak Art Council, philosopher, esthete and educator. He worked at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague as a teacher and researcher as well as Vice-Rector for Education. Mr. Kovalčik professionally deals with the issue of the relationship between high culture and popular culture, design theory and education in art schools. Within the schedule of Jazzbus Gliwice 2020, he will talk about state support in jazz music.
