Istanbul Jazz Festival releases “Young Jazz+ 22” album with the support of Mehmet Uluğ Fund

"Young Jazz+ 22" album featuring one original piece of 6 young and talented bands from Turkey, released in collaboration with Istanbul Jazz Festival and Mehmet Uluğ Fund. The recording sessions and the mix and mastering stages are made at the Babajim Studios in Istanbul. Renowned Turkish musicians like Volkan Öktem, Korhan Futacı, Deniş Taşar, Ayşe Tütüncü and Selen Gülün were also among the  of producers and mentors of each session. The album is released by Sony Music Turkey.

“Genç Caz” (translated as Young Jazz) concert series of Istanbul Jazz Festival were initiated in 2003 to provide a platform for amateur and emerging musicians and ensembles in Turkey. Organised for the 20th time in 2022, Young Jazz series grow stronger with the support of Mehmet Uluğ Fund, initiated to honour the memory of Turkish music professional Mehmet Uluğ, whom we lost in 2013. In its 20th year, the platform name became “Young Jazz+” to embrace creative young musicians in a broader framework and is open to applications from all young musicians who live in Turkey and make music in the genres of jazz, funk, R&B, neo-soul, electronic music, hip-hop or inter-genre music.
