Greetings from Victoria!

We’ve just opened the doors for a new season of thrilling music. Our opening weekend consisted of Benjamin Lackners Quartet with Mathias Eick, Manu Katché & Jérôme Regard, and two concerts with Stian Carstensen – Musical Sanatorium. With three great and sold-out concerts for our opening weekend, we couldn’t ask for a better start.

With most of our spring program ready and the rest is just a few touches away, we’re pretty excited about this season. In February alone we got concerts with Zoh Amba Trio, Nik Bärtsch, Tord Gustavsen Trio, the amazing Larry Goldings, Peter Bernstein and Bill Stewart trio, Eivind Aarset 4tet, Solveig Slettahjell Quartet and a 70th birthday celebration for Jon Eberson.

Speaking of celebrations, 23rd, 24th and 25th of March we have something really special. This year marks the 10-year anniversary of Paal Nilssen-Love’s Large Unit, and they’re having a three-day festival at Victoria to celebrate. With Ethiopian and Brazilian guest musicians, dancers, magicians, workshops, and what not, this should be an epic festival. Members of anarcho-punk band The Ex and legendary Japanese saxophonist Akira Sakata, will also join the festivities. This will for sure be one of this season’s highlights!

As always, if you’re in Oslo, please check out our program and pay us a visit. We can guarantee a night with great music at Victoria – Nasjonal jazzscene.

With love from Oslo, Norway
