Greetings from Victoria!

We’re getting ready for winter here in Norway, the days are indeed getting darker and colder. We’re also headed towards the last concerts of the year with a strong December line up. Karin Krog, Thomas Strønen’s Time Is A Blind Guide, featuring Norwegian rising star Selma French as a guest, and Mars Williams – An Ayler Xmas, are some of the highlights at Victoria before the holidays.

Along side prepping this year’s final concerts, we’re busy scheduling and putting the final pieces in place for next year’s program. We can proudly present a wide range of artists. Our season opening weekend starts January 20th with the new Benjamin Lackner, Mathias Eick, Manu Katché & Jérôme Regard quartet (pictured), who has just released the album “Last Decade” on ECM. The following Saturday and Sunday we have two sold out shows with Stian Carstensen – Musical Sanatorium.

Other artists coming next spring includes names like Billy Cobham’s Spectrum 50 Band celebrating the 50th anniversary of the album “Spectrum”, Mary Halvorson and her Amaryllis band, Eivind Aarset 4tet, Solveig Slettahjell Quartet, Ben LaMar Gay, Johan Lindström Septett, just to name a few. We’ve also got Chris Potter and his new quartet stopping by, and we are getting ready to announce Bill Frisell & Thomas Morgan. In May, we have two sold out shows with Brad Mehldau Trio as well. So, we’re excited these days, to say the least.

As always, if you’re in Oslo, please check out our program and pay us a visit. We can guarantee a night with great music at Victoria – Nasjonal jazzscene.

With love from Oslo, Norway
