Organised by Jazz à Tours and Le Petit faucheux, Émergences Festival returns to Tours from 2 to 7 November for six days of adventurous music, bringing together jazz, electronic music, pop, improvisation and everything in between. Celebrating a new generation of artists who challenge conventions and blur musical boundaries, the festival offers a programme where acoustic instruments meet synths, grooves collide with experimentation, and improvisation takes centre stage.
Highlights include a jam session, a collaboration between London-based collective Tomorrow’s Warriors and Jazz à Tours’ young musicians, and performances by Knobil, HanMari, bodies, Oasis Boom, nit and dogs and [Na]. Emerging projects such as Microplancton, EverGreen and the Maya Calvet Bette Band are also in the spotlight.
The programme extends beyond concerts with a screening of Sisters with Transistors, celebrating women pioneers of electronic music, and a panel discussion, Resisting Through Music, exploring artistic freedom and the challenges facing the music sector in today’s uncertain political and financial climate.
Émergences invites audiences to discover the sounds of today—and tomorrow.
