On Tuesday, December 2nd, Jazz Danmark invited music lovers, musicians, and jazz industry professionals to the jazz celebration of the year. Singer Alice Carreri hosted the evening, which featured special performances by fusion-pop supergroup Tabloid, avantgarde pioneer Lotte Anker, jazz classicists Sophisticated Ladies & Kaare Munkholm as well as guitar prodigy Casper Hejlesen.
This year's DMA Jazz also marked the start of a year-long celebration of the 100th anniversary of jazz in Denmark. Two very different jazz profiles, Kasper Tranberg and Thorbjørn Øllgaard, delivered speeches reflecting their distinct perspectives on the genre.
It was a night to remember at the beautiful and historic venue Store VEGA, culminating in the Danish Minister of Culture presenting Jakob Dinesen with the award for Jazz Release of the Year - followed by Tabloid bringing the house down.
