Clasijazz Rural Artistic Residency Opening "El Molino"
Clasijazz presents its new challenging project toward the impulse of cultural activity in rural areas!
Located in the rural area of Terque, in the South of Spain, Clasijazz Artistis Residency "El Molino" takes its first steps. After the rehabilitation of an old water mill, this natural paradise is becoming an artistic residency that will serve two purposes:
1. Regular programming in the rural area and in a natural background
2. Annual artistic residency hosting three rounds of artists per year for a period of 6 weeks
Our goal is to challenge the way culture is made, create a space where artists can find refuge, work on their projects and collaborate with other artists worldwide. We want to encourage cultural diversity and exchanging ideas, where tradition intertwines with the contemporary.

Clasijazz Big Band Plays Epitaph Charles Mingus at the Palau de la Música Barcelona - 27 July
The Clasijazz Big Band, flagship of this entity and performing for the first time in Barcelona, unites young promising Spanish jazz - especially Andalusian, Catalan and Valencian - with figures from the category of Perico Sambeat, Francisco Blanco 'Latino' and the American Wayne Escoffery, the only one of the members to have performed this piece (in 2007, in a formation directed by Gunther Schuller). The Clasijazz Big Band is, like the work of Mingus, a cathedral formation, straddling classical and jazz, with thirty-three performers and under the direction of Ramon Cardo, saxophonist, big band player, a traveling companion of Sambeat, Latino and other great exponents of the Valencian scene. The best way of celebrating the twentieth anniversary of the Mas i Mas Festival.
