Le Petit faucheux, in Tours (France) host the iconic duo Barry Guy & Maya Homburger, as part of an AJC–Pro Helvetia partnership aimed at promoting the circulation of Swiss artists in France.
New compositions, improvisations, and baroque masterpieces coexist in the work of the duo formed by baroque violinist Maya Homburger and double bassist Barry Guy. Major figures on the international improvisation scene, they invent a singular musical language where creative freedom and virtuosity meet beyond eras and styles.
Their collaboration began in 1988, during a tour with the Academy of Ancient Music, marking the start of a fruitful dialogue between two musical worlds that Barry Guy had long kept separate: early music and contemporary improvisation.
