108 event planners, all involved in supporting the emergence and the guidance of jazz and musical improvisation artists, just picked the winners of Jazz Migration #7. It is among these 16 pre-selected projects following a call for applications mobilising 80 groups, that more than 100 music festivals and clubs chose Charley Rose trio, Cocolite, Nout and Suzanne – thus showing the interest of the jazz and musical improvisation world for Jazz Migration.
Starting today, the four winning trios enter an artistic and professional support process, lasting for two years, completed by a tour in 2022. Thanks to Jazz Migration, these artists will benefit from the support of a network of professionals committed to the guidance and mentoring of artists. In the context of the recovery plan launched by the French Ministry of Culture, this year will additionally provide the twelve nominated groups with an improved support, as well as a residency period.
Concerned with supporting the employment of artists and maintaining their professional activity, AJC will thus allow more than 50 artists to benefit from a paid opportunity and the experience of a scheme which has been active for 20 years.
