

Brno will welcome eight jazz artists and bands to the Central European Jazz Showcase. A selection of the most interesting young jazz from Poland and the Czech Republic will be presented on June 23rd and 24th at CED - Husa na provázku theater in Brno.
Eight finalists will perform live on Monday, June 23rd, selected from 75 registered bands by an expert jury composed of Czech and Polish musicians, composers, educators, and journalists. From Poland, the formations Akimbo, Blu/Bry, Karolina Błachnia Quartet, and Ziółek Quartet will perform, while from the Czech Republic: Deaf Platypus, Josef Hanulík, Petr Nohavica – Glance, and Point of Few. Each band will play a twenty-minute set. In addition to the general public, representatives of European jazz festivals, clubs, agencies, and media will be in the audience. At the end of the evening, one Czech and one Polish winner of this year's edition will be announced. On Tuesday, June 24th, a closed accompanying program is prepared for the participating artists and delegates.
The Central European Jazz Showcase is co-organized by the JazzFestBrno festival, the Krakow Jazz Juniors festival and competition, and the Polish Foundation for Film and Jazz Music.
