42nd Catania Jazz season + Jazz for Peace

The new season of Catania Jazz kicks off on October 23 at the Teatro Metropolitan in Catania.

A program of ten concerts crossing styles and generations, bringing to the city some of the most important figures of the international and Italian jazz scene.

The season opens with Cédric Hanriot & Time is Color, a French pianist and composer capable of weaving jazz and electronics into music rich with energy and creativity.

Among the highlights is the quintet of double bassist Linda May Han Oh (November 5), one of the most authoritative voices on the global scene, and the return of Raphael Gualazzi with his quintet (December 16), in a concert that blends piano virtuosity, voice, and refined songwriting.

Great anticipation also surrounds the solo piano concert by Danilo Rea (February 3), one of the masters of Italian jazz, and the performance by the quartet of Chilean saxophonist Melissa Aldana (March 24), considered one of the most original interpreters of the new generation.

Equally captivating will be the encounter between Sara McKenzie and the Catania Contemporary Orchestra (April 17), skillfully merging jazz and orchestral writing.

The season will close on April 28 with the Cettina Donato Quartet – Homage to Moravia, an original project intertwining music and literature.
