
Vilnius Jazz returns to the Lithuanian capital for the 38th time with a rich, diverse program reflecting the most interesting contemporary jazz trends. At its focal point - US avant-garde greats and the most prominent contemporary French jazz.

The abundance of French improvised music is the festival’s symbolic response to the Lithuanian Culture Season 2024 in France, when Vilnius Jazz presented a young generation of Lithuanian contemporary jazz musicians - Improdimensija Orchestra, led by Liudas Mockūnas, together with French jazz masters, led by improviser Marc Ducret.
Philippe Ochem, Jazzdor’s long-time director, will be coming to Vilnius to introduce the audience to contemporary French jazz in his lecture.
Vilnius Jazz continues its jazz-themed film programme Vilnius Jazz Screen Beats, this year presenting a retrospective of renowned American music-film director Robert Mugge (Sonny Rollins: Saxophone Colossus, Sun Ra: A Joyful Noise, Blues Divas with Morgan Freeman) and a documentary by British filmmaker Oliver Murray on the legendary jazz club Ronnie Scott’s.
