BEATRICE ARRIGONI & MICHELE BONIFATI “On the move”
Beatrice Arrigoni: voice - Michele Bonifati: electronics, slide guitar, voice
Through the texts of the english writer Michael Rosen - from the whole book he dedicated to the theme of migration: On the move - Michele Bonifati e Beatrice Arrigoni give voice and sound - between jazz and experimental folk - to those emotionally laden words, so current in an historical moment in which migrations became incessant and tragic. Those poems reminds us that we are a migratory species, and that humanity, carrying all our stories, memories and roots, will always be “on the move”.

SARA LONGO & ALVISE SEGGI “Mystery Tour”
Sara longo: voice, effects - Alvise Seggi: cello, double bass, electronics
tributi a Carla Bley, Mercedes Sosa e Count Basie.

This is music for sunrise and sunset. Daily music. Healing, centering, mantra, heart music.
This is how, in a few precise words, William Parker defines this project, an exciting collective quest for balance, an antidote against the horror of conflict and destruction, an unmissable geometry of humanity, together with two other extraordinary improvisers such as Cooper-Moore and Hamid Drake.

7:30 pm Marching band
Cormons, centro storico
FUNKASIN STREET BAND
With over 450 concerts to its credit in more than a decade of activity, the Funkasin Street Band is one of the most engaging acts on the Triveneto scene. Three percussionists and eleven wind players reinterpret different genres with original arrangements, mixing the traditional sounds of brass and drums with the pulsating rhythms of funk, jazz, disco and rock.
It is in the streets of the city that Funkasin's travelling show comes to life, a mix of music, choreography and energy in motion, flowing until it involves the most important element of each of their performances: the audience of all ages. This will also happen in Cormons, for a joyous start to the Festival!

8:30 pm Opening of the photo exhibition
Enoteca di Cormons, Piazza XXIV Maggio 21, Cormòns (Gorizia)
“Brötzmann, In My Focus” di Žiga Koritnik
A visual narrative spanning decades of jazz and improvisation, capturing the intensity of a music in perpetual transformation. A revelatory encounter with the Die Like a Dog quartet at the Konfrontationen festival in 1994 marked a decisive turning point: from that moment, the gaze became a devoted chronicle of Peter Brötzmann’s art, opening new possibilities for listening to and understanding contemporary improvisation. Over the years, concerts, journeys, and encounters have shaped a valuable archive, a living memory of a profound connection with a radical and indispensable artist. Enriched by contributions from musicians and poets, the exhibition is not merely a retrospective, but a profound and transformative tribute to Brötzmann’s enduring legacy and the visionary force of his art.

Trumpets, trombones, saxophones, prepared piano, electric guitar, bass and drums echo in polyrhythmic tessellations, vibrating orbits, impossible geometries.

TOLMAČI
Andrej Thompson: sax - Žiga Ipavec: drums
Two of the most interesting promises of Italian jazz for a sound that ranges between jazz, folk and contemporary genres. The duo was born on the terraces of Chioggia and breathes in the streets of Florence, where, thanks to the absence of a rhythmic instrument and a common musical identity, the two musicians create new sound horizons. Both composers, the two musicians create a repertoire characterised by original pieces written specifically for this ensemble and a reinterpretation of some popular music pieces, managing to create a meeting place halfway between dreaming of the past and imagining the future.
