The Jazzclub Leipzig e.V. has been an integral part of Leipzig’s cultural scene for over 50 years. With the founding of the international festival »Leipziger Jazztage« in 1976, the organisation established a long-standing festival format that has helped shape Leipzig’s position as a jazz location.

The organisation is run by a small professional office team responsible for the development, organisation and implementation of its projects, while the Jazzclub Leipzig e.V. itself has around 250 members. It is an active member of the »Jazzverband Sachsen« and the »Deutsche Jazzunion« and works in long-term collaboration with local and international partners. Its activities focus on the production and presentation of jazz and improvised music, as well as fostering artistic exchange and supporting the development of the scene. Its current core activities include the festival »Leipziger Jazztage«, the year-round concert series »Jazzclub Live« and the monthly concert calendar »Jazzkalender«
