Music awards granted in Poland since 1995. Since 1999, they have been presented by the Phonographic Academy, established by the Polish Association of Audio-Video Producers. It is composed of over 1000 artists, music journalists and professionals from the Polish phonographic industry. There are 3 jazz categories: Jazz Album of the Year, Jazz Artist of the Year, Jazz Debut of the Year.
Organized in Katowice since 2014 in October. Candidates from different European countries can apply. Pre-selection on the basis of the scores and the finalists perform their compositions in front of the gathered audience.
Festival and International Contest of Young Jazz Ensembles. Founded in 1976.
Combination of the festival and contest for young artists organized in Wrocław. The programme includes performances of world-class music stars and promising artists of the young generation, celebrations of the International Polish Jazz Day as well as the Jazz Personality Contest.
International jazz festival and competition for young ensembles organized annually in Jelenia Góra by the Jelenia Góra Cultural Centre in cooperation with cultural centres from Germany and the Czech Republic.
A music competition held every two years organised by the Zbigniew Seifert Foundation in Warsaw. The organiser of the competition is looking for an individual in the calibre of Zbigniew Seifert (1946-1979), one of the most important Polish jazz musicians, gifted with an exceptional talent, whose untimely death ruined his international career. The competition is open to violinists, violists and cellists from all over the world who play jazz and improvised music, up to the age of 38. Participants qualified for the semi-final and final stage are required to present, apart from free compositions, also works by Zbigniew Seifert.
Competition for debuting artists open to ensembles from all around Europe. Programme includes concerts by intl stars, an international competition, as well as workshops for young musicians and meetings with artists.
