Most jazz labels today are small independent structures, producing on a small scale. A large part of them has gathered within Les Allumés du jazz (see cell 4). Artists often work in self-production. In addition, labels are frequently connected to other structures (festivals, venues, collectives); below are only ones that are not and should be open to proposals.
Historical record label, with a few big names (Steve Coleman, Michel Portal, Bojan Z, Henri Texier).
Record label oriented towards jazz, African and Afro-diasporic music, and songwriting.
Record label oriented towards revisited jazz, whether with hip hop, songwriting, groups formed for the occasion, etc.
Participatory record label, which means musicians have to contribute to costs by fundraising.
Record label oriented towards black music (jazz, soul, Caribbean music). Features several English artists.
Record label oriented towards contemporary jazz with a traditional feeling.
