The most famous jazz awards. They are a sub-category of Les Victoires de la Musique. Includes Best Musician, Best Singer, Revelation, Best Band, Best Album and Best World Music Album.
L’Académie du jazz is an old association (co-founded by Jean Cocteau) that edits a rather confidential “palmarès” each year since 1954.
Besides the usual prizes, it includes Best Jazz Book, Best Previously Unreleased Record, Best Soul Record and Best Blues Record.
