Jazzbüro Hamburg

The Jazzbüro Hamburg association is the umbrella organisation and central network for jazz in Hamburg. We represent the interests of jazz musicians and jazz players. We are the link between politics, the public and the scene. We promote national and international exchange between musicians. We are interested in the current diversity of jazz and Hamburg’s image as a city of music. Our aim is to continue to shape Hamburg as a “jazz city” too, for and with our outstanding musicians and great venues. With our projects such as Jazz Moves, Hamburger Jazzpreis and Jazz Open Hamburg Festival we create visibility for jazz made in Hamburg.

Originally, Jazz Open HH Festival startet in 1995 as an initiative of musicians and other players. One year later, Jazzbüro was founded to administrate the festival and to gather interests. Our work has grown a lot since then, Jazz Open HH festival remaining of great importance for our core identity.

Our association has an elected (non paid) advisory board, a (paid) team of 4 people consisting of general manager, pr manager, project manager, team assistent and many more volunteer workers.
