

The 6th of September the historic and beautiful Glassalen in Tivoli, Copenhagen, was filled with Danish jazz enthusiasts, musicians and festive anticipation as host Naya Buric guided the audience through the night to celebrate some of the greatest living Danish jazz icons.

Anne Efternøler – Innovator of the Year
Receives DKK 30,000 from the William Demant Foundation
Jon Albjerg Ravnholt – Communicator of the Year
Receives DKK 20,000 from the William Demant Foundation
Erik von Spreckelsen – The René Daugaard Grant
Receives DKK 20,000 from the René Daugaard Grant
Benita Haastrup – Children’s Jazz Award
Receives DKK 30,000 from the Gangsted Foundation, along with a concert tour organized by LMS – Live Music in Schools
Each award reflected both artistic excellence and dedication to the Danish jazz scene.
The diverse and eclectic Danish jazz scene was showcased as each of the winners took the stage for a unique performance. For this special night only, the Tivoli Orchestra had acquired no less than four trombone-players to accompany the winners in their specially curated live performance.
On September 6th the Danish jazz scene came together, and it stood clear that Danish jazz is alive, thriving and worth celebrating.
