A total of 11 concerts are planned for the autumn edition of JazzFest Brno. From October 5 to the end of November, the festival will feature world-renowned names as well as icons of the Czech scene.
The festival will open with The Brandee Younger Trio – a unique project by the African-American harpist who breaks down the boundaries between jazz, R&B and hip hop. Her trio will perform on October 5 at Cabaret des Péchés.
One of the highlights will be a concert by saxophonist Charles Lloyd, one of the most influential figures in jazz history. His Sky Quartet – featuring Charles Lloyd, Jason Moran, Larry Grenadier and Eric Harland – will take the stage on November 10 at Sono.
The festival will also present other top artists: legendary bassist Marcus Miller, American drummer Makaya McCraven, phenomenal drummer Nate Smith, vocalist Michael Mayo, pianist Taylor Eigsti with guest singer Becca Stevens, British pianist and producer Ashley Henry, as well as Czech stars Ondřej Pivec, Muff and Marie Puttnerová.
