Tomorrow’s Jazz Prize, the 10 finalists

Audition program for Saturday December 11 in the Sale Apollinee of La Fenice Theatre. The Prize, with the support of the Ministry of Culture, is dedicated to the young talents of Italian jazz.

There are 10 finalists in this third edition of Tomorrow’s Jazz, the prize for young Italian jazz talents created by Veneto Jazz and financed by the Ministry Culture.

These soloists are Emanuele Filippi (piano, Marche) on piano solo; Federico Calcagno (clarinet, Milan) with trio Fade; Nicoletta Taricani (voice, Udine) with her quintet, Filippo Ieraci (guitar, Genoa) with his quartet; Jacopo Fagioli (trumpet, Toscana) with the duo Bilico; Valentina Fin (voice, Vicenza) with the quintet Rame; Gabriele De Leporini (guitar, Triest) with his trio; Andrea Glockner (trombone) with Agea Project (Italy, France, Turkey); Francesco Taucci (keyboards, Marche) with the ensemble Mixtape; Francesco Di Giovanni (guitar, Trapani) with his quintet.

The musicians, in their various formations, will be on stage for this audition on Saturday December 11 at the Sale Apollinee of Venice’s Teatro La Fenice, with a live exhibition before the jury consisting of Giuseppe Mormile, president and music director of Veneto Jazz; Diego Borotti, musician, instructor, and music director of the Torino Jazz Festival; Davide Liberti, musician and instructor; Gigi Sabelli, music critic.

The top three will get a scholarship and participate in a concert at a festival or international institution, at the expense of the organizers. The concerts will be hosted by the following festivals, clubs, and institutions: Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, London (UK); Rigas Ritmi Festival, Riga (LT); Jazz in Israel, Israel (IL); Venezia Jazz Festival, Venice (IT); other festivals JIP circuit Jazz Italian Platform (IT).

The Dec.11 auditions and awards ceremony will be behind closed doors.

“Tomorrow’s Jazz” is organized by Veneto Jazz with the support of the Ministry of Culture as par of the competition “Festival, cori, bande musicali e musica jazz” together with Teatro La Fenice di Venezia, Regione del Veneto, Città di Venezia.
