Acclaimed double bassist, composer and producer Petros Klampanis, dubbed “the bass ace” by Bass Player Magazine, grew up in Greece surrounded by a convergence of Mediterranean and Balkan folk music. He is always looking for unique ways to integrate elements from a variety of genres, from classical to pop.

He lives between New York and Athens, Greece. His varied musical journey combines aggressive melodies, beautiful intonation and a unique distinctive sound in all the projects he leads or produces.
Klampanis has collaborated with world-renowned artists such as Greg Osby, Jacques Morelenbaum, Oded Tzur, Arooj Aftab, Anoushka Shankar, Shai Maestro, Marcus Gilmore, Gilad Hekselman, Jonathan Blake, Jean-Michel Pilc, Snarky Puppy, Kinan Azmeh and Maria Farantouri, among many others. His extensive list of performances includes Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, The Blue Note, The Kennedy Center, Glastonbury (UK), JazzAhead (Bremen) or the Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (Athens).

PROJECT Latent Info

The album serves as a sincere tribute to all that remains invisible, hidden in a latent mode, often neglected or left unnoticed in the hustle and bustle of life's cacophony. Within the musical dialogues documented in this recording, three masterful musicians explore the realm of the unspoken and overlooked. It is a tribute to unexpressed emotions, unspoken words and conversations that never found a voice. It includes feelings arising for a potential lover, dialogues that remain suspended in the air, opinions muffled by louder voices and feelings held back by societal expectations. In 'Latent Info', the musicians focus on the beauty and power of the unnoticed. It serves as a reminder that even the most subtle nuances can shape our world.
