Roger Corrêa | November 2025 Tour in Portugal

Accordionist Roger Corrêa will present the music from his album Latino Ibérico in Portugal this November, on his third European tour this year. In a trio with pianist Edilson Forte and percussionist Benji Habichuela, he will showcase his original compositions in five shows: Festival Acordeões do Mundo (7), in Torres Vedras; Eixo do Jazz (9), in Vila Nova de Famalicão; Cascais Jazz Club (13), in Cascais; Fábrica Braço de Prata (14), in Lisbon; and Salão Brazil (15), in Coimbra.

"I understand Brazilian culture as part of a process of Latin American cultural identity. My music highlights the shared musical roots and heritage, the result of the union of indigenous, enslaved, and Iberian peoples that structured both Brazilian music and that of the entire South American continent," explained Roger Corrêa, who is originally from Guaíba (RS) and currently lives in Florianópolis (SC).

In Latino Ibérico, southern Brazilian music fluently dialogues with these roots, developing its own accents in styles such as milonga, chamamé, chacarera, candombe, tango, salsa, choro, and many others.

The album's motivation is to establish a deep connection between these cultural elements, experimenting with new musical possibilities through a universal aesthetic that is jazz, valuing composition, the fundamentals of improvisation, and innovation in the research of new styles and genre fusions.
