The 24th international improvisation, jazz, and global music festival Rīgas Ritmi will take place from July 3 to 6 this year. The main concert venue will be Riga Cathedral Garden, where the biggest concerts will be held on July 4 and 5. The stages of the festival will also be in the cultural center Noass, Riga Jazz Lounge at the hotel Radisson Blu Latvija, and Fenikss Lounge at the hotel Aston Hotel Rīga, while the master classes led by the festival's guest artists will take place at the Latvian Radio Studio 1.
The main guest artists of the festival will perform at the Riga Cathedral Garden: the Italian guitarist Antonio Forcione living in the UK, the Italian bandoneonist Daniele di Bonaventura together with the Latvian chamber orchestra Sinfonietta Rīga, the Cuban pianist Jorge Luis Pacheco and the American singer José James. At the cultural center Noass the vinyl label Jersika Records will offer its artists' performances, but the audience of Riga Jazz Lounge and Fenikss Lounge will be offered concerts by other great Latvian artists, with the participation of foreign guests as well.
The music festival Rīgas Ritmi is one of the leading improvisation, jazz, and global music festivals in the Baltics, which is well known in Europe and other parts of the world. Every year in Riga, the festival stages gather both world-renowned and awarded artists, as well as new and unheard-of musical talents. Over the decades, the Rīgas Ritmi festival has become an integral part of Latvian cultural life, inscribing Riga's name in the global and jazz music culture tourism guides. Evaluating the artistic program and organizational quality, as well as its importance in the international circuit, the European Festival Association awarded the Rīgas Ritmi festival with EFFE Label.
The festival is organized by the Contemporary Music Center Foundation. Tickets are sold at bilesuparadize.lv
